It pays to make a quick attempt at repairing things before throwing them out! Really, it was the thought of trying to properly dispose of the old oven that kept me from going to the general store a few miles away and buying a new one for the very reasonable price of $89. I spent a little over a dozen dollars purchasing eleven switches of which only one 79-cent microswitch was needed for the repair. I didn't wait for the SPST switch (I used an SPDT instead), thanks to eBay vendor "discountcoinshop" for their rapid service!
