This version of Careless Love Blues was recorded at The Harp Hotel, Albrighton, Shropshire, England on Sunday, August 16th. 2009 by the Old Comrades Jazz Band with Alice Beavan. This video was fortunately recorded by Harp regular John Bosworth as I was busy changing batteries in my camera!
The band line-up was Big Eric Dodgson on trombone, Dave Coles on clarinet and sax, Dave Shepherd on cornet, Daves Andrews on drums, Steve Slater on bass, Mike Wall on piano and Griff Thomas on banjo. The ever young Big Eric introduced a really young member of his family, 16 year old Alice Beavan, who captivated the audience with her superb singing of both this number and Down by the Riverside.
Once again a brilliant gig at the Harp where sessions are held every Sunday lunchtime and Tuesday evening.
