Want to hear a summary of what I learned spending nearly $30K in educational programs in the M&A space?
A few years ago, I got hit by the "buy a business" investment strategy bug and purchased a business, then I did a second one. I have now purchased my third business and am looking at completing a QSI stack with the first one.
During the time, however, I invested a TON of money into educational programs from Dan Pena, to Aaron Muller, to Roland Frasier, to Carl Allen (Dealmaker Wealth Society). And, frankly, I learned something from each one. So no complaints on the money spent... I gained a lot!
In this video, I contrast the "no money down" approach to people looking to sell their business to Chad Peterson's "Quantum Stack Investing™" or QSI approach.
As well, I discuss some of the players in typical M&A, how business brokers are often criticized, and how brokering the right way can bring much value. Ultimately, most closely held businesses are NOT sold through the "no money down" approach, but rather, utilize a business broker combined with a down payment and bank financing, often with SBA loan backing.
Simply, strong businesses generating consistent cashflow can be purchased and sold, including with bank and SBA financing. Thus, the highest quality companies are typically sold through brokers and for cash, not in the "no money down" approach.
