The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission where the anti-corruption body has now filed a suit seeking to recover unexplained assets worth 1.9 billion amassed by former Kiambu governor Ferdinand Waititu Baba Yao.
In a suit seen by citizen tv the EACC seeks to have the court restrain Waititu from selling or using the marked and evaluated property claiming that it is not commensurate to the former governor’s known sources of income.
And as Hassan Mugambi reports, the EACC has it that this is one case among a number of marked governors said to have embezzled public funds to enrich themselves while in office.
