This is Me from the motion picture soundtrack of The Greatest Showman. I was honored to be one of the local opening acts for Americas Got Talent Mandy Harvey. It was a dream meeting Mandy who was not only amazingly talented but genuinely wonderful to speak with. We share the same condition. A genetic connective tissue disorder called Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. I call EDS the performers gene mutation. So many of my fellow performers show signs of Hypermobility. It can give you an artist edge or rob you of your health. I choose to look at the good. My joints may dislocate but my vocal cords and lungs are more elastic and contributes to my singing voice. God made me just how I am meant to be. My symptoms can be overwhelming but I never would have had this experience if I didn’t have EDS.
