Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY), launched on 23rd September, 2018 by the Hon’ble Prime Minister, is the World’s largest publicly funded health assurance scheme which aims at providing health cover of upto Rs.5 Lakh per family, per year for secondary and tertiary care hospitalization to over 50 crore vulnerable families (approximately 50crore beneficiaries) belonging to the bottom 40% of the population.
