The 2021 Evoque reaches a new dimension in terms of the digital experience. Because the equipment of the series now includes the ultra-modern pivot infotainment system, which was first seen in the new Land Rover Defender. Pivi is immediately ready for use right from the start - its own battery and a separate data plan ensure immediate operation. The integrated data connection enables free software updates "over-the-air" at any time, whereby the updates can be started at the right time as required. In this way, Evoque users always have the latest data for maps, apps, or the vehicle system - without having to visit the workshop. The backbone of the infotainment system is a new, high-performance electric vehicle architecture.
It continues in the technology department of the Evoque 2021: streaming music and media has become even easier because Spotify was integrated directly into the infotainment menu for the first time and equipped with its own data volume. While two cell phones can be connected via Bluetooth at the same time in the Evoque, the wireless charging function has a signal amplification option. The second generation of the Activity Key is also available: if you carry it with you, you can lock and unlock the doors and start the engine when you approach without having to use the regular key.
In the Evoque year 2021, users can also monitor and control the quality of the indoor air via the touchscreen. From here, a new filter system is activated for the interior air, which, for example, keeps the fine dust that often occurs in large cities away from the vehicle interior. The new filter system works in parallel to the system for ionizing the indoor air and removes not only fine dust but also allergens, pollen, and even odors. Even ultra-fine dust particles up to category PM2.5 have no chance of getting into the Evoque interior. The filters are activated using the "Purify" button on the touchscreen, which also enables the indoor air to be monitored in relation to the outdoor air. The passengers then receive a confirmation on the screen that the air inside is better than outside.
Further technology updates in the Range Rover Evoque concern the assistance systems. With a rating of five stars in the Euro NCAP crash test, the Evoque is a particularly safe car anyway - more electronic helpers are now being added. The new rear collision warning system uses radar to constantly monitor the area behind the Evoque and, in an emergency, prepares the vehicle for a collision at lightning speed. A likewise new 3-D surround camera gives the driver a complete and realistic overview of what is going on around the Evoque up to a speed of 30 km / h. This makes maneuvering easier as well as crossing difficult passages.
Land Rover is making the engine selection again more modern and larger. Two further developed 2.0-liter four-cylinder diesel from the latest Ingenium generation are found under the bonnet - both diesel engines are equipped with mild hybrid technology (MHEV). This includes a belt starter generator and a battery unit so that energy normally lost when braking or decelerating can be fed back into the 48-volt battery. Thanks to recuperation, more power is available, for example for overtaking, while consumption is reduced. The two new MHEV diesel of the Evoque are available with 120 kW (163 PS) or 150 kW (204 PS) - more powerful than the previously installed units, but at the same time with even better values for CO2 emissions and fuel consumption. The D165 emits 131 grams of CO2 per kilometer, while the combined standard consumption from 5.0 liters amounts to 100 kilometers.
Also new in the Evoque built in 2021 is the 1.5 liter Ingenium three-cylinder petrol engine, which was previously available as part of the P300e plug-in drive package and can now also be ordered as the sole drive source. The engine, classified as P160, provides 118 kW (160 PS) with a maximum torque of 260 Nm. The light engine, which is available with front-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission, impresses with a successful balance of performance and efficiency. The CO2 emissions of the 1.5-liter three-cylinder petrol engine are 152 g / km, while the combined standard consumption is 6.6 liters per 100 kilometers.
The further portfolio of gasoline engines remains untouched: Customers of the Range Rover Evoque can choose from the P200, P250, and P300 - all with mild-hybrid technology.
