OABI 2016 racing in the downpour. Near Heron Bay Pointe transitioning into the Canadian/International commercial route along Bell Isle, Detroit, MI. Just bought a recreational Sit on Top Kayak. Went down to race to check it out. Racers got caught in a short downpour as the main pack rounded the eastern pointe of Heron Bay heading into the Canada side of Detroit River. Heavy rain last for 20- 30 minutes and the finish was in fair weather.
