We took a beautiful drive up the Irazu Volcano located in Cartago Costa Rica. At an elevation of 11,260 feet above sea level, this is the highest volcano in the country. The drive up is one of the most scenic drives in all of Costa Rica and have many places to stop and look out across the Central Valley and surrounding mountains. Along the way you will see the two main crops grown in this region of Costa Rica, Potatoes and Onions. Located close to the entrance of Irazu National Park is a great restaurant called Sueños del Irazu and it serves traditional Costa Rican dishes in a quaint atmosphere. Trust us, the food here is excellent as is the service! Pura Vida!
