Preservation Houston's 2020 Good Brick Tour explores the Helen & Max Rosenbaum House, a mid-century gem in Meyerland with a surprising addition. Join Mayra Moreno of ABC 13 for a tour of this distinctive 1964 residence designed by architect Arthur Steinberg, which combines Asian influences with the minimalist aesthetic championed by German-American architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. A renovation in 2014 by Stern and Bucek Architects opened Steinberg's floor plan while maintaining the original design's mid-century lines. The renovation also included a second-floor addition that houses a unique feature: an impressive custom-built model train layout that pays tribute to the Southern Pacific's transcontinental line through Texas between 1945 and the 1960s. Preservation Houston recognized the renovation project with a Good Brick Award in 2015.
