Today I prepared a short video highlighting one of the best places to live in Bradenton, FL.
Brief history on the community, an interesting fact:
¬ The town was called Palma Sola because of a lone palm tree that guided boats to the town from the Manatee River.
¬ It was even the largest town in Manatee County until the turn of the century.
¬ Today most of Palma Sola is considered a residential neighborhood of Bradenton although not in the city limits.
Overview of types of homes in the community:
¬ The 394 homes in Palma Sola Park include many of the original 1920s Spanish-Mediterranean style houses.
¬ Florida ranches, constructed from the 1950s to 1970s blend with other, more contemporary dwellings, some of them two-story, built from 1970 to 1999.
¬ More recently, some of the older waterfront homes have been torn down and replaced by million-dollar estate mansions.
Community features (ex: maint. free, walkable to beach, amenities, etc):
¬ Palma Sola Park offers a variety of amenities ranging from baseball fields, football fields, grills, pavilion rentals, picnic tables, playgrounds, restrooms and more!
What people who live there love about the community:
¬ The location is great. Beachway Plaza catty corner on Manatee Avenue has a Publix, Staples, and Bealls with Italian and Chinese food.
¬ Blake Medical Center is less than a mile away.
¬ Anna Maria Island and downtown Bradenton are within 10-minute drives to the west and east, respectively.

¬ Today, Palma Sola Bay is known for being one of the state’s valued preserves for natural wildlife.
¬ Along with sea turtles, fish and various species of birds, the bay is home to a number of beautiful plant species. Above all, this place is a great place to call home!
¬ Prices can range as low as $85k to as high as $1.2M!
¬ Recently sold homes in Palma Sola:
o Townhouse for $115K - $617K
o Single Family Homes (which include some of those million dollar homes) $210K - $1.1M.
o Palma Sola’s median listing price is around $300k.
