I grafted a Simmonds and Monroe variety onto the same tree. The Simmonds is early season whereas Monroe is late so the grower can harvest fruit June through August then again November through February. Also the Simmonds is flowering type A while Monroe is type B so they will pollinate each other. This gives us a self pollinating tree that gives fruit 6 months out of the year.
