Popular sandy beach about 200 meters long for relaxing, sunbathing and swimming. Located between the Corbières nautical base and the Port de la Lave, this beach offers a remarkable view of the Marseille harbor. Lave beach is close to the historic Estaque district, known for its picturesque streets and its artistic history linked in particular to painters like Cézanne. The nautical base, managed by the city's youth and sports department, allows you to practice dinghy sailing, canoeing, rowing and diving. A maritime shuttle connects the Old Port to the port of l’Estaque during the summer season.
Plage de la Lave has amenities such as lifeguards on duty, public restrooms, showers, and wheelchair access. Dogs are not allowed on the beach.
Plage de la Lave is named after the small pebbles that cover the beach, which are said to resemble lava rocks.
