Oituz-Pass (Pasul Oituz) view on March 2022

Oituz Pass is a pass located on National Road 11 in the central group of the Eastern Carpathians, between the Nemira Mountains - to the north and the Brețc Mountains (subunit of the Curvature Carpathians) to the south, at an altitude of 866 m.
The road has a beautiful view over Romania's Nemira and Brețcului mountains. In the Middle Ages, the pass has always been one of the most important gates of Transylvania. The existing road here was built by the Austro-Hungarian Empire in 1847.
