Installation of hurricane storm screens and costs. I found out that my motorized rollup storm screens have more benefits than protecting my house' lanai during a hurricane. They are great for blocking the hot western sunlight in the late afternoon. Plus when there are thunder storms, they prevent gusts of rain from soaking my lanai furniture. These screens have motors that are controlled through a wifi enabled remote. Plus with an app (Storm Start app) you can control them from anywhere with your smart phone. I found that by adding the DooYa Bridge app to my Alexa App I can voice control my screens. But the big benefit with using Alexa it that it allows me to set up . open/close Routine with a timer (ie to close 1 hour before sunset and to re-open at sunset). This automatically keep that western sun from flooding my house. Now if only I can figure out how to rig up a rain sensor to Alexa that would close the screens every time it starts to rain ...then I would be really happy!
