Michelle describes her gorgeous home as Parisian style with NYC resourcefulness. Her apartment is quintessential New York in that every area has multiple jobs. Her kitchen serves up beauty and function, equally. The Miele oven is also a microwave, her floor to ceiling custom blue cabinets store even her tax documents, there’s room for her crystal and the overall effect gives the impression the kitchen is as much an elegant foyer. Her living room, with its Parisian salon vibe, is of course where she unwinds, and it is also her occasional work from home station and where she hosts her best parties. Michelle bought the apartment 4 years ago and right away made major renovations to the garden level split. She immediately opened the upstairs plan, laid down herringbone wood floors, added classical moldings, a stunning mantle and a glass wall around the stairwell. 15 years in the beauty industry and 4 years living in Paris, Michelle’s elegance and design sensibilities touch every corner and have influenced every decision. Downstairs, Michelle transformed the dark basement into a glowing feminine oasis. She perfectly married luxurious embellishments with functionality, using a large sideboard as her dresser, repurposing unused space under the stairs and turning a hallway into a dressing room.
