MCI= Mass Casualty Incident
2 vehicle accident killed 2 people, and 5 more injured victims were transported to local hospitals. the car crashed into a parked car and several a water line. SDPD is investigating.
UPDATE From SDPD:
A 62-year-old male was driving a Ford EcoSport southbound in the northbound lanes of 2900 Mission Blvd. A 41-year-old male was driving a Kia Sportage northbound 2900 Mission Blvd. The Ford and Kia collided head-on in the northbound #2 lane. The driver of the Ford was pronounced deceased on scene. A 59-year-old female passenger in the Kia was also pronounced deceased on scene. Two passengers in the Ford and three passengers in the Kia were transported to area hospitals with injuries. One of the passengers in the Ford sustained internal chest bleeding and one passenger in the Kia was in critical condition with multiple injuries. Other passenger injuries were minor. Alcohol is not a factor. San Diego Police Traffic Division is investigating.
