During National Rail Safety Week 2019, the public transportation industry wants to remind pedestrian and drivers to stay alert when near the tracks. Every year, 2,100 people in North America are killed or seriously injured when they engage in unsafe behavior around tracks and trains. As part of this year’s new rail safety public-awareness campaign, “#STOPTrackTragedies,” APTA has produced a video reminding the public to not take a chance and to stay safe around all rail modes.
