Hello everyone! In this video we will be driving Sir Nigel Gresley Locomotive Trust Class A4 '60007' 'Sir Nigel Gresley' which originates as an LNER Class A4 locomotive which is the fastest steam locomotive type in the world (officially at least, it is disputed a lot!). '60007' 'Sir Nigel Gresley' is currently a preserved example of this locomotive class and is owned by the Sir Nigel Gresley Locomotive Trust where this locomotive holds the post-WW2 steam locomotive speed record at 112 mph.
Today; we will be taking it on a speed test on the Brighton Main Line to see if we can get above that while hauling 7 British Railways Mark 1 Coaches! Starting at London Victoria in England of the United Kingdom during a cold Winters morning we depart for a 50 mile non-stop journey south to Brighton with the speed and time of the trip being measured between Clapham Junction and Preston Park where we are permitted to ignore the speed limits to see how fast we can get before coming to a stop at Brighton! I hope you enjoy!
