For those familiar with the Cardinal Buses fleet, this is... I'd say TA324's half sister TA717. They are both more or less the same vehicle, except TA717 is 10.5m long rather than 9.9m as well as it sporting the 'slightly newer' London United interior. Here the bus is floored down the A-Roads and the motorway on a light-run to support Reading Football Club with shuttle services alongside other Reading Buses' vehicles. Unsurprisingly the gearbox on TA717 has aged (not very badly)... the first two upshifts from pullaway do jerk the bus a little bit as well as the torque converter taking a little bit longer to lock-up into 2nd gear. However it does get moving once it's out of the blocks! It also does well to perform under full load as well, tackling a number of gradients while in service. Just like most tridents this one is limited to 50 (clocked 51mph). Big up Cardinal Buses for their service and well presented fleet of buses! And props to the driver as well for providing good service to the passengers and for the invitation to capture them enjoying their long awaited first drive of a proper Dennis Trident. 💪🏾
