"Paradise" is the third and final part of Dante Alighieri's "Divine Comedy." It describes the journey through the nine celestial spheres, representing the medieval view of the cosmos: First Sphere (Moon), Second Sphere (Mercury), Third Sphere (Venus), Fourth Sphere (Sun), Fifth Sphere (Mars), Sixth Sphere (Jupiter), Seventh Sphere (Saturn), Eighth Sphere (Fixed Stars), and Ninth Sphere (Primum Mobile). Along the way, he encounters saints, angels, and blessed souls, culminating in the vision of God.
