Five cops accused in the Tamil Nadu custodial death case on the charges of murder of shop owners Jayaraj and his son Bennicks in police custody. As per reports, the decision to shift the accused from the Tuticorin jail to Madurai Central jail was taken after the cops got into an altercation with the inmates. The father-son duo were arrested by the local police on June 19 on the charges that they had illegally opened their shop and violated the lockdown restrictions imposed to curb the spread of the Coronavirus. The case has created widespread outrage across the nation as people campaign for justice against alleged police brutality.
