In many parts of Eastern Europe the number of new renewable energy plants cannot be connected to the grid, as this would exceed the currently available capacities. To tackle local challenges in the distribution grids, E.ON Hungária Zrt. Group and E.ON Innovation have installed unique energy storage systems in two Hungarian villages. These are two demo-sites of the project HELGA which is a part of the EU-supported Horizon 2020 iElectrix program.
