Thousands of women, many wearing bright pink knit hats, poured into downtown Washington for a march in opposition to Donald Trump.
The Women's March on Washington is one of a series of street protests throughout the country and the world against the new president's often angry, populist rhetoric. Actress America Ferrera, and feminist icon Gloria Steinem were among a list of high profile speakers addressing the crowds, only a day after the Republican took office.
