When we look at a tapestry up close, we see many individual threads in a great variety of colors. If we take a few steps back, we discover that the threads are not randomly arranged but are carefully placed by the artist to form a design of exquisite beauty.

Choral music is a sort of tapestry too. Each individual voice in the chorus is unique. Each part of the music is distinct. But when the parts are arranged by a great composer, the voices swirl together to create new harmonies that become more than the sum of the parts.

The concert program includes works by Bach, Runestad, Brahms, Copland, Barber, and a newly commissioned work from Dale Trumbore, “A Seed Marks Time.”
