The Environmental Award recognises individuals, projects, and groups that have made great strides toward tackling climate change and environmental issues.
Operating in both Twickenham and Richmond, The Real Junk Food Project were 2022's winner. They won for their pioneer work in helping to reduce food waste and feed the community by collecting surplus food 7 days a week from local businesses, retailers, individuals and allotments and redistributing it back into the community, educating people along the way about the impact our food choices have on the environment.
They were also chosen as a shortlisted nominee in this year’s Community Group of the Year category!
