BYD's rapid growth in New Energy Vehicles has made it the world's largest NEV maker. In Q4 2023, BYD sold 526,409 BEVs, surpassing Tesla's 484,507 units. However, Tesla regained the top spot in Q1 2024 with 386,810 units, 86,696 more than BYD's 300,114 units. In Q2, Tesla sold 443,956 BEVs, just 17,917 more than BYD's 426,039. Counterpoint expects global BEV sales to hit 10 million units in 2024. China is expected to sell four times more BEVs than North America by 2024.
