Meet Pyrite, also known as "Fool's Gold." It is very similar to gold and is often mistaken for it. At first glance, pyrite looks like gold with its color and luster, but upon closer inspection, there are some distinct differences. Pyrite has a more yellowish and metallic shine compared to gold. Additionally, gold is a very soft metal and can be easily scratched, whereas pyrite is much harder and difficult to scratch. Due to its similarity to gold, pyrite is often used in the jewelry industry and for extracting sulfur dioxide. Moreover, pyrite is used in filters to reduce the emission of harmful sulfur compounds during the combustion of fossil fuels. Remember, not everything that is yellow and shiny is gold!
