Louis Charden is one of Yerevan’s most popular café-bakeries. It’s owned and managed by chef Arbi Gharakhani. He and his wife, who are originally from Iran, lived in India for 13 years before permanently moving to Armenia.
Arbi’s French-influenced creations, including croissants filled with apricot and a large variety of sandwiches, are the pride of Louis Charden. The chef has honed his culinary skills in India.
When he moved to Armenia, Arbi brought with him not only an array of wonderful recipes and baking techniques, but also the managerial and administrative skills he had learned in college. Prior to launching Louis Charden, he worked as a consultant for new cafés in Yerevan.
As a proud resident of Armenia who’s also passionate about helping contribute to its betterment, Arbi Gharakhani is putting his knowledge and skills to good use, by creating jobs and training his compatriots in the nuances and etiquette of food service.
