Different hands at the controls, sounds coming from another creative mind involved with the label.
This patch is involving the famous Serge VCFQ filter. I’m sending a very short envelope to trigger (ping) the filter. Then I’m sending the bandpass output into 4 waveshapers in a row adding immense distortion. I’m using two signals to modulate the first waveshaper, one from the lowpass output of the filter and one from another short envelope. And if that’s not enough, half-way through I’m sending the output of the final waveshaper back into the input of the filter creating feedback.
Serge is an intense noise machine and the last part of the video is an exploration of its sound. At 7:39 while trying to tame it and shut it down, I simply create another completely unexpected timbre and rhythm. You can see my hands wondering what the f**k is going on. The sound you hear is the raw output of the system straight into the daw for live stereo recording. No fx used.
