LS Sensors:
Air Temperature Sensor: determine the temperature of the air entering the engine to determine fuel and spark calibrations.
Mass Airflow Sensor (MAF): measure weight (or mass) of air that enters the engine to control fuel delivery
Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor (MAP): fuel delivery and ignition timing.
Knock Sensor: reduce ignition timing if detonation occurs.
Oxygen Sensor: O2 sensor measures air/fuel ratio. Target air/fuel ratio for engines burning pump gas is 14.7 parts air to 1 part fuel. This is where the engine burns fuel most cleanly while generating low emissions. But also just helps the engine run better.
Camshaft Position Sensor and Crankshaft Position Sensor: Indicates stroke position for any cylinder. The latter tells the plugs when to fire.
Variable Valve Timing (VVT): [ Ссылка ]
