This marks the first episode of a three-part series offering a glimpse into British Boat Builders in 2023. In this debut release, Annie Means – an American Fellowship student and filmmaker – ventured to England's South Coast to interview women working hands-on in boatyards.
The candid and insightful reflections showcase remarkable women in diverse boatyard roles, from shipwrights and laminators to an electrical apprentice; working in a wide variety of yards from industry giant, Sunseeker International, to small start-ups. All these boatbuilders share a fervent commitment to their craft and a belief in industry inclusivity.
The aim of the series is to celebrate the work of boatbuilders, create content that inspires others, and nurtures our thriving community of women actively involved in boatyard work.
We hope you enjoy Episode 1 – The South Coast
