Underground nuclear testing has angered the undersea kingdom of Seatopia!

Fed up with the testing's devastating impact on their civilization, the Seatopians unleash the mighty Megalon to teach the surface dwellers a lesson. As Megalon, the beetle-like monster with drill-like hands makes its way to the surface, a team of inventors have created one of the greatest achievements in technology... the mighty Jet Jaguar! The robot also catches the attention of the Seatopians who succeed in taking control of Jet Jaguar and use the robot to pave the way for Megalon's rage.

With Megalon on an unstoppable rampage, the inventors take control of Jet Jaguar back from the Seatopians and send the robot to get Godzilla for help. But the Seatopians call for backup from outer space in the form of Gigan! While waiting for Godzilla's arrival, Jet Jaguar does what any robot would do and grows to an enormous size to match against both Megalon and Gigan. When Godzilla appears on the scene, it's a four-way monster battle that is sure to send the bad monsters running... and flying away.

This film from 1973 is special for a number of reasons. Not only do we see Godzilla's infamous "tail slide," but we also get two new characters in both Megalon and the fan-favorite Jet Jaguar. While neither character appeared in a feature film again, Jet Jaguar is a featured character in the animated series "Godzilla Singular Point." But the resurgence of Jet Jaguar's popularity owes it all to this Showa Era film. Punch! Punch! Punch!
