Climate change is impacting honeybees, flower development, and honey production altogether. The climate affects the nectar and pollen production of flowers. Some species of flowers are even dying off because of rising temperatures, droughts, and increasing pests that thrive in warmer weather. This is limiting where honeybees can travel to collect nectar and thus make honey. For biodiversity such as bees to thrive, the EAT-Lancet commission recommends setting aside at least 10% of farmland for conservation so that biodiversity can thrive.
