Chingai Konyak, retired dobashi of Oting living in comfort in Mon, 1970
(It is noteworthy to mention that Nagaland's first woman Rajya Sabha MP, S Phangnon Konyak' is Chingai Konyak's grand daughter).

4.9.1970: We returned at dusk and paid a visit to Chingai, ex-dobashi of Oting, who now lives in a modern house with a modern and capable Ao wife and three sons and two small daughters. He has obviously made good and engages in various business enterprises. His wife said how often he spoke about me and how she read all about her husband in 'The Naked Nagas' (A book which Prof. Furer Haimendorf wrote in 1938). To my slight embarrassment she gave me a valuable Ao scarf.
5.9.1970: At sunset I went to take photographs of Chingai and his family.

Head Dobashi Chingai was also one of Furer Haimendorf's interpreters in 1936.
