This is the first range visit for one of the most expensive firearms in Vasily's collection. It's a Lee-Enfield SMLE No. 1 Mk. 3, the principal British/imperial infantry rifle from pre-World War One to the late stages of World War Two. What's special about this is that it's an Ishapore, made in 1943 at India's main small-arms factory (still operating), north of Kolkota. The rifle is generally in great shape, with an original (non-matching) bayonet. But it was pretty grimy inside, with decades-old congealed grease on the barrel, a grotty bolt, and sooty buildup in the bore. After the Vasily treatment, it could breathe anew, and he buffed the wood with beeswax too. The bolt-action cycles very smoothly, though he and Lyudmila will have to work a little on the sights in the new year. Please subscribe to our channel and leave your feedback!
