Dramatic drone footage shot on Sunday (August 6) showed how a residential area in Spain's northeastern region of Catalonia, near the French border, narrowly escaped being engulfed by a wildfire that ravished 573 hectares (1416 acres) of land.
The blaze which started on Friday (August 4) in Catalonia's coastal town of Portbou left locals and tourists without water, electricity, internet and phone service over the weekend and spread to Colera, located 18 km from the border with France.
The footage showed a coastal road separating swathes of scorched hills and fields from seaside homes in Colera.
