Final Fantasy IX - PS1 - NO COMMENTARY

PREVIOUSLY:
Upon arriving to Ipsen's Castle, Amarant decides to make a bet with Zidane, stating to him that working alone is the most effective way to accomplish things. Amarant leaves the party and the unofficial race is on as to who can reach the castle top first.

The party traverses through the inverted structure filled with ladders and secret rooms, until they finally reach a room with a large mural with four mirrors on it. Apparently, Amarant was able to reach there first, he taunts them by further proving his point about going solo, and then leaves. Zidane takes down the four mirrors, and notices some words etched on them, as they were about to leave, a voice can be heard warning them of the dangers of carrying the artifacts with them, the guardian of the mural, Taharka, then appears in front of them. Zidane and his companions defeat the worm-like creature, and make their way out of the castle.

Outside, Zidane realizes that Amarant hasn't made it out of the castle yet, and so he returns inside to check. A few rooms ahead, he sees the lone wolf wounded and helps him out. Again, Amarant is puzzled by Zidane's behavior, initially thinking that he was about to receive the worst mockery of his life, instead, was spared again with the help of Zidane.

The party re-unites outside, with the clues on the mirrors, they form a plan to invade the four elemental shrines simultaneously. Zidane forms four parties with two members each, Eiko and Dagger on the Water Shrine, Freya and Amarant the Fire Shrine, Steiner and Vivi the Wind Shrine, and finally, Quina and himself storm the Earth Shrine.

Each duo lands on their assigned shrines, passing through the traps, while also defeating the shrine guardians. They all put their respective elemental mirrors on the altars, and re-gathers on the Hilda Garde 3. Placing the mirrors on the shrines activates the portal to Terra through the Shimmering Island, where they fly to aboard the Hilda Garde 3. A strong force from the island then sucks in the airship, along with the passengers aboard.
