Preparations and rituals are underway for the mega Ram Mandir 'Pran Pratishtha' ceremony in Ayodhya on January 22. The first visuals of the idol of Ram Lalla installed inside the sanctum sanctorum (garbhagriha) of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya surfaced on Thursday. The idol was covered with a white cloth when it was placed in the sanctum sanctorum amid the chanting of prayers. For Friday (January 19), ‘agni sthapana’, ‘navagraha sthapana, and a havan ceremony are scheduled. During the grand ‘havan’ ceremony, a large fire pit will be prepared, along with the chanting of hymns and sacred vedic mantras, filling the atmosphere with positive energies and spiritual power. The 51-inch idol, sculpted by Mysuru-based sculptor Arun Yogiraj, was brought to the temple in the wee hours of Thursday. According to the temple trust, Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra, has extended invitations to over 7,000 individuals, including notable figures such as Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, Amitabh Bachchan, Mukesh Ambani, and Gautam Adani. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be the chief guest of the event, which will also mark the inauguration of the Ram temple in Ayodhya. The traditional Nagara-style Ram temple complex, spanning 380 feet in length, 250 feet in width, and 161 feet in height, with 392 pillars and 44 gates, is the backdrop for this grand celebration. The temple town of Ayodhya has got a major facelift in the run-up to the Ram Mandir event. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday released commemorative postage stamps on Ayodhya's Ram Temple and a book with stamps dedicated to Lord Ram from around the world.
