Growing banana trees indoors can be complicated. One of the most frequently asked questions I get during the fall and winter is, “how do I keep my banana plants in the house?” Keeping banana plants as houseplants requires bright and intense light, plenty of water and ideally a good amount of warmth. For those that do not have the conditions in their homes to grow banana plants actively then there are other options which I cover in this video. Growing colocasia indoors / growing colocasia as houseplants is pretty much the same as the bananas. Elephant ears as houseplants can be grown in all of the same ways as I went over for the banana plants, except I would let the soil dry more between watering (top 1 inch of soil ) since colocasia will rot in soggy soil if not receiving tons of light and warm temps. Should I still make a separate video for them? Hopefully this was helpful to those wondering what to do with their banana plants and colocasias in the fall and winter. There are lots of methods on how to grow banana trees indoors, this was a broad look at those methods.
