Setsubun is in three days. Setsubun is the eve of the first day of spring on the lunar calendar.
On this day, people hold bean-throwing activities called “mamemaki” to bring in good fortune and drive away evil spirits. People throw roasted soybeans, yelling “Out with the demons! In with good fortune!” Today, I’m going to make demon cupcakes. It’s fun to make this sweet with children on the day of setsubun!
