The Vishwa Shanti Stupa is an ancient pillar or peace pagoda in Rajgir. This pillar is situated on top of Griddhakuta or Ratnagiri Hill, at an altitude of 400 m above the sea level. This pillar was built by the Japanese as a symbol of world peace. The structure is built completely in marble and comprises four golden statues of Lord Buddha with each representing his life periods of birth, enlightenment, preaching and death. The way to reach this ‘stupa’ includes an aerial ropeway.
