Live imaging of endothelial microvascular cells at 600x magnification shows the dynamic movement of the protruding cell edges (local lamellipodia). These endothelial cells form a protective barrier between circulating blood and tissues outside the blood vessel network and can be compromised by traumatic injury and inflammation.
