What's it like standing between two 10,000 HP (~15,000lbs thrust each) afterburner equipped jet engines? Unreal, to say the least! This is from when the Quartermaster and Black Pearl jet funny cars ran head to head at Great Lakes Dragaway in Union Grove, WI during their Memorial Day weekend event. This was also George's best run ever in the Black Pearl, setting a new personal best E.T. of 6.389 and new top speed of 251.53 mph in the 1/4 mi. Congrats!
I was invited by Douthit Motorsports @jetcarsrock to the event as crew photographer, and you can find my album of their cars from the first run at [ Ссылка ] I have more photos of the other jets that ran during the day that I still need to go through, but the host gets priority of course.
Unfortunately this was the only video I was able to get, and sorry for the light streaks. I was using my older phone, and R.I.P. the microphones. Hey, I'm a photog, not a videographer :P
