Protests have resumed in Kenya, as the discontent mounts against President William Ruto despite his U-turn on the proposed tax hikes. Ruto agreed to scrap the contentious Finance Bill and called for dialogue following deadly protests. However, some protesters are sceptical and demand Ruto's resignation. Kenyan police fired rubber bullets and tear gas at demonstrators in capital Nairobi, as they hit the streets again on Thursday. Security remains heightened in the Kenyan capital with roads to the presidential palace blocked.
