► While serial device servers connect devices to Ethernet networks in a protocol transparent way, protocol converters and gateways additionally convert the device protocol.
► The devices support many different protocols such as Modbus/RTU, RAW, ASCII, PROFIBUS DP or HART and convert them into Ethernet protocols such as Modbus/TCP, EtherNet/IP, Profinet, HART-IP or OPC UA.
► With the multiport converters, several serial devices such as barcode scanners or printers can be integrated into Ethernet networks at the same time. This saves valuable space in the control cabinet. ► The embedded web server enables simple commissioning and configuration.
The serial device servers also support security features such as 256-bit AES encryption and authentication mechanisms. And they enable quick and easy troubleshooting by the user thanks to extended diagnostic functions of the serial ports.
