This is the first of two clips running an overview of Iranian foreign policy and its relation to Syria as opposed to Palestine. In contrast to the "Axis of Resistance" narrative, I point out that while Iran and the United States oppose each other in such arenas as Lebanon and Yemen, in other major conflicts they are on the same side - so it's irrational to claim that Syria is part of "resistance" just bcos it's friends with Iran, especially when the Syrian government has repeatedly and long worked with the United States. This first part deals with an overview from 1979-2003, the next part will focus especially on Iraq, Syria, Palestine, Lebanon, and Yemen since then.
