Jon explains how to round to the nearest multiple of 1000.

The four steps to success are:

1. Write in the two nearest multiples of 1000.
2. Write in the midpoint.
3. Estimate the number's place on the number line.
4. Look to see which multiple is closer.

The quick way to round to the nearest multiple of 1000 is to look at the hundreds column.
If you have between 0 and 4 hundreds, you round down.
If you have 5-9 hundreds, you round up to the next multiple of 100.
