Ordnance Survey have published a series of books describing outstanding circular walks. Known as the Pathfinder Guides, they are one of the most popular guide books for walkers looking for diversity, wildlife, scenery and adventure.

The Essex Series will explore each of these diverse walks, documenting the route, places of interest, places to eat and drink and of course, the beautiful British countryside.

Walk 7 explores the wildlife and tranquility of Cymbeline Meadows on the edge of Colchester before heading into the centre of town to take in the rich Norman and Roman history by visiting the Balkerne Gate and Castle. The return is along the River Colne.
