I've had a few questions lately on how Jitsi works, and what it takes to run it. Instead of trying to test on my own, I thought I would setup a server and offer to let you all test it with me.
At 7:00 PM today (4/1/2020) central time US. I will setup a Jitsi server. You'll be able to reach it at

I expect it to be up and operational by 7:30 PM central US.
I encourage you to jump on, create a room, and give it a try. Additionally, I'll be in the room

If any of you would like to hop in and chat, I look forward to seeing you there.
I additionally encourage you to try out the freely hosted, and available to everyone home site of Jitsi Meet at

I hope you're all doing well, staying home, being safe, cleaning your hands, and keeping your distance. Don't let the distance create a communication gap.
What will my users need?
1. A device that can run Windows, Mac, Linux, Unix, iOS or Android and a modern web browser (not Internet Explorer), like Chromium, Firefox, Edge, Safari, Google Chrome, Brave, Opera, etc.
2. An internet connection with decent bandwidth. If you use it for voice only, the bandwidth requirements go down a good bit.
3. The URL (web address to your room).
4. Allow the browser to use the Camera and Microphone when you first launch the site.
NOTE: iOS and Android use the Jitsi meet apps from their respective app stores to connect. You can put in custom URLs for servers through the app settings.
Look forward to seeing you online!
